Contact Hours | | The definition of a contact hour is 50 minutes of an organized learning activity; excluding breaks, announcements, viewing exhibits, lunch, etc. The minimum number of contact hours is one. After the first hour, fractions of the 50 minute hour must be calculated (i.e., every 5 minutes of additional time is one-tenth of a contact hour). Pro-rated contact hours are available when content is missed. | The definition of a contact hour is 60 minutes of an organized learning activity; excluding breaks, announcements, viewing exhibits, lunch, etc. The minimum number of contact hours is .50. After the first half-hour, fractions of the 60 minute hour must be calculated to the nearest 1/100th. Criteria for successful completion: The participant must attend the ENTIRE activity in order to achieve the objective and receive WNA-CEAP approved contact hours. |
Individual professionals are responsible for correctly representing their contact hours on their certificate. If you are from a discipline that calculates contact hours differently, you will need to adjust your contact hours on your renewal form. As per the ANCC policy, attendance at the entire program is required for successful completion and awarding of contact hours. Back to top
